Today and tomorrow are the final days to see Portland Paper City. If you haven’t checked it out, give it a go before it’s all over. Gallery hours at Disjecta are from noon-5PM. While you’re there, be sure to check out Karl Burkheimer’s installation too.

Portland Paper City opened at Disjecta over the weekend with overwhelming success. Thanks to all that participated in the project and supported us throughout the year and at the opening. We couldn’t be happier with the result and it seems the word is traveling fast. Make sure to check out our feature on Strictly Paper today!

Now that the show is up there’s really only one thing left to do — share photos and credits. We’ll be continuing to post more photos of the show as well as our our artist spotlight series (including work by the founders) and posting to our flickr account. If you have photos of the event, be sure to add them to our Group Pool.

If you didn’t get a chance to make the opening, it will be up at Disjecta until Saturday March 26th. Be sure to check it out before the show is over. Gallery hours are Friday-Sunday 12-5pm.

undoboy, created a Portland Trail Blazers themed Super-Bastard Box Art Character–the heads and the pants are interchangeable! What a great addition to his collection, along with a rad submission to PPC! We’re chanting his motto: “design brings happiness”. On Saturday, you can switch LaMarcus’ head to Oden’s body with Roy’s pants!

Emily Engdahl is the epitome of a Jane of all trades. She is collaborating on a paper rose garden with PPC founders Marisa Green and Jessie Bazata. Throughout this process we have discovered that the girl can really do it all, from creating paper installations, to freelance design, to raising three kids, to brewing her own beer–she’s a whirlwind of creativity. Black Rose Collective Bookstore on Mississippi by Melissa Delzio

MelDel and Portland Paper City have a bit of a history together. PPC founders, Marisa Green, Jessie Bazata and Sean Garrison all participated in Melissa’s book project called Our Portland Story. In fact Jessie designed a Portland paper hipster for one of the page layouts in the book. We were thrilled when Melissa wanted to add a little piece of her Mississippi neighborhood to our project. It’s nice to see that an old school building got a little love.

Check out this Portland pirate sent in from Santiago Uceda. We love the hand drawn lines and the skull and crossbones belt. You may be familiar with his Society6 Portland poster “Dirty Wet Bigfoot Hipster.” We may have to snatch one up. We love these trees that illustrator Amy Ruppel submitted. They will be right at home in Portland Paper City. She also created a paper version of Saraveza! Since Amy and Sarah have a history that begins in the Midwest, it was only natural to honor a friend, beloved Portland bottle shop and Packers fan’s haven. Go Pack! – Be sure to check it out at the opening.
